Clinical experience

I have been a nurse for nearly 30 years, starting in 1990. I started in Primary Care in 1996 and currently work in Lewisham, South East London. I work clinically one day a week, mainly supporting clinicians to manage patients with multiple morbidities. I specialise in Long Term Conditions and teaching and supporting junior nurses. I am a Queen's Nurse and CNO Silver Award holder. I also teach staff how to manage these conditions: smears, childhood immunisations, travel vaccines and treatment room duties.

Education experience

I work 4 days a week as Director of Primary Care Learning at South East London Workforce Development Hub which involves commissioning and delivering training to all clinicians across South East London. I have a PG Cert In education. I have been teaching for the past 4 years.

Why do I teach?

I have developed a passion for teaching as it enables me to work with clinician to upskill, motivate and inspire them to deliver high quality care. I get so much satisfaction giving people the tools to make their consultations flow and be of high quality and value to the patient so making their job more satisfying.

Fun Facts

I am also a personal trainer and love to exercise which includes entering 2 half-marathons a year.
